| Pat Bruno | "Five to Try" Critic's Picks - All of which serve a fine lunch | Chicago Sun-Times; October 14, 2005 Coco Pazzo Cafe 636 N. St. Clair; 312.664.2777 Vibe: Besides the food, the allure here is that the dining room is most always full, so people-watching is on full spin cycle. It's like being on the Via Veneo. Service is excellent. Choose from a quickie lunch, or one that is long and leisurely. Flavor: The lunch menu offers an incredible array of dishes - antipasti, pasta entree, panini Recommended: fried, calamari, ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta, Milanese chicken breast with arugula. The panini I favor is stuffed with speck, arugula and Brie. It comes with marinated veggies and chips. Best deal in town ($9). Pat Bruno | "Five to Try" More Italian Delights (Some Al Fresco) | Chicago Sun-Times; June 17, 2005 Vibe: Another Alfresco favorite of mine. The big doors in front open, so you can sit in the shade or in the sun and watch the passing scene (aka the Streeterville Stroll) while getting some really good Tuscan-Style food. Flavor: The panini selection at lunch (try the fresh tuna and tomato) is great. So are the pasta dishes (try the gnocchi with pesto and pine nuts). A nice summer entree would be the grilled salmon with citrus, fennel and arugula. Barbara Revsine | "Chow Bella; Italian-style dining in the Windy City" | Front Desk; April 2005 "All it takes is one bite of the sublime gnocchi all Bolognese to demonstrate the error in describing Coco Pazzo Cafe as a scaled--down version of its big sister, Coco Pazzo. Think of it, instead, as a stylish, stand-alone trattoria serving well-crafted Tuscan-style cuisine." Harry Hightman & Barbara Seville | "Gourmet Gossip" | Today's Chicago Woman; August 2005 issue "Congratulations to owner Jack Weiss on providing Streeterville with fab food that's economically priced." People Magazine | August 29, 2005 "At fave Chicago eatery Coco Pazzo Cafe [Jennifer] Aniston is always in a good mood."
